Kirtimukha Suvarna Prabhavali
Kirtimukha Suvarna Prabhavali
This piece from Ekam: The Collector’s Edition is a brass artifact aged over three decades, carrying the natural patina that develops with time. The surface shows authentic variations in tone, texture, and age marks that reflect its history.
To preserve this character, the piece is not polished or refinished. The natural patina and signs of aging are intentionally retained, making each piece unique and true to its heritage.
Kirtimukha Suvarna Prabhavali takes inspiration from the sacred archways seen in classical temple iconography. At its crest rests the powerful Kirtimukha, the mythic guardian face often placed above temple entrances to symbolize protection, vigilance, and divine authority. Flowing ornamental carvings and sculpted columns frame the arch below, creating a prabhavali—a radiant halo-like frame traditionally placed behind deities in temples.
While rooted in temple tradition, the piece carries a sculptural elegance that complements modern interiors. Whether framing a small idol, placed behind a diya, or styled as a heritage accent on a console or shelf, it introduces a sense of sacred architecture into contemporary spaces.
