Asta Lakshmi Tejovalayam
Asta Lakshmi Tejovalayam
This piece from Ekam: The Collector’s Edition is a brass artifact aged over three decades, carrying the natural patina that develops with time. The surface shows authentic variations in tone, texture, and age marks that reflect its history.
To preserve this character, the piece is not polished or refinished. The natural patina and signs of aging are intentionally retained, making each piece unique and true to its heritage.
Asta Lakshmi Tejovalayam, meaning “The Radiant Halo of the Eight Forms of Lakshmi,” draws from the sacred imagery associated with the eight manifestations of Goddess Lakshmi—each representing a different aspect of prosperity, well-being, and abundance. The sculpted backplate features symbolic depictions of these divine forms, arranged within a radiant halo-like composition.
At the base sits a traditional lamp basin, designed to hold a oil lamp. When lit, the flame casts a gentle glow across the sculpted forms, enhancing the sense of radiance suggested by the name Tejovalayam. The combination of sacred symbolism and functional design reflects the quiet elegance of traditional devotional objects.
Today, Asta Lakshmi Tejovalayam serves as both a spiritual and decorative accent. Placed within a pooja setting, on a console, or within a curated heritage display, it introduces a sense of auspiciousness while blending seamlessly into contemporary interiors.
A curated artifact from Ekam — where heritage lives in modern spaces.
